The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT) and China’s National Gemstone Testing Center (NGTC) have signed the Letter of Intent (LOI) to set coloured gemstones examination and certification standards and other research projects jointly on gems and jewellery industry between the two countries. “These include the standards for ruby, sapphire, emerald and jade and guideline for ruby and sapphire origin examination,” said Duangkamol Jiambutr, the director of GIT. GIT and NGTC will also cooperate on publishing academic articles in international academic journals, present papers in academic conferences and provide training course for Thai and Chinese entrepreneurs in the industry.
