Birmingham-based Fei Liu Fine Jewellery has transformed the designer’s love for oriental flowers into his latest silver jewellery collection Magnolia.
Set with cat’s eye in silver, the Magnolia collection debuts with rings, earrings and pendants inspired by van Gogh’s painting ‘Almond Blossom’ on which the understated colours and the magnolias caught award-winning designer Fei Liu’s eye.
“From a young age I was fascinated by observing the plants in my grandmother’s garden. Chinese art is based upon a keen eye of nature and acute observation and I think I learned a great deal by observing the intricacies and delicate details of all those beautiful flowers,” Liu said.
“The beauty of the cat’s eye is its imperfections; it is the inclusions and unique reflection of light that resembles the slit-eye of a cat,” he continued. (Photo courtesy: Fei Liu Fine Jewellery)
