Chaumet presents its ‘Trésors d’Afrique’ high jewellery collection, the third chapter of a jewellery saga titled ‘Les Mondes de Chaumet’. The collection explores the artistic riches stored in ornamental traditions of sub-Saharan Africa.
The Kenyan artist behind the collection, Evans Mbugua said, “I apply oil painting using a technique that I invented, to place dots of colour in different sizes on a support that is often transparent.” “The collaboration with Chaumet opened my eyes to the universe of stone setters whose work is very close to my own,” he added.
