Christie’s Geneva celebrates 50th year

08-06-2018

Christie’s Geneva is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Founded in London in 1766, the auction house chose Geneva as an ideal location in 1968 to serve the clients in the European Continent. A second office in Switzerland was opened in Zurich after 10 years. The Geneva office held the first auction in June 1968 offering porcelains; and the first jewellery auction was held in May 1969.

To mark the anniversary moment, the auction house reminds us of the top five jewellery under 12 categories sold at Christie’s Geneva over the past 50 years. Here we share with you the top-of-the-top lots.
