Alrosa to offer 1,950 carats rough diamonds at auction

Alrosa announced to hold an auction in Vladivostok from 16 to 27 April putting 110 rough diamonds totally 1,946 carats, with the largest diamond weighing 46.64 carats. All are mined from Alrosa’s deposits and its subsidiaries.

 

“Vladivostok is one of the most important trading sites for ALROSA, which focuses on cooperation with Asia Pacific region. We have invited about 80 firms to participate in the auction and have prepared large diamonds that are traditionally in great demand for them,” said Evgeny Agureev, director of United Selling Organization (USO) of Alrosa, and a member of the company's executive committee. Companies from different countries including Hong Kong, Russia, Israel, India, Belgium and UAE will attend the auction. The results will be summed up on 27 April.

 

The company sold US$ 559.5 million worth of rough and polished diamonds in March. Rough diamond sales by value amounted US$ 550.3 million and polished diamond sales amounted US$ 9.1 million.
