  • A 5.3-carat fancy pink diamond ring

New auction in Hong Kong, May

British auction house Bonhams will be launching its first jewellery sale in Hong Kong on 21 May 2014 at the newly opened gallery at One Pacific Place, Admiralty.

The featured lot is a diamond ring set with an exceptional 5.13-carat VS2 fancy pink diamond by Kwiat, estimated at HK$11,200,000 to 13,200,000. “Pink diamonds are extremely rare and fancy pink diamonds over 2 carats with a clarity grade of VS2 or better are exceptionally rare and make up only a handful of the diamond market,” Bonhams said.

Another coloured diamond highlight is an important diamond ring featuring a radiant-cut fancy vivid yellow diamond weighing 10.00 carats, VVS1, estimated at HK$3,900,000 to 5,000,000.

Among the 179 lots in total in the jewellery sale, magnificent jadeite jewellery will also be making a remarkable presence. Highlighted lots include a pair of jadeite bangles and a jadeite bead and diamond necklaces, both estimated at HK$1,300,000 to $1,600,000.

Established in 1793, Bonhams is one of the world’s top three fine art auctioneers, with international salesrooms in London, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong.
