OROAREZZO 2014 highlights 'made-in-Italy' designs

OROAREZZO 2014, an international show for jewellery, gold and silver, was held between 5 and 8 April in Arezzo, Italy, was attended by around 500 Italian companies and visitors from over 80 countries and regions including the United States, the Middle East, China, Russia, Spain, the Philippines, France, etc.

The four-day event kicked off at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Andrea Boldi, president of Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, fair organizer and Maria Elena Boschi, minister for Institutional Reforms and Relations with Parliament. “There is all the excellence of Italian manufacture at OROAREZZO. We have the most genuine, fascinating and representative history of gold jewellery companies that mix their extraordinary skills of traditional artisan jewellery making with the most innovative technologies,” Boldi highlighted.

According to some exhibitors, the show was quiet on the first day, but started to turn well with increasing people flow, especially on the public holiday. A wide variety of quality products manufactured in the major Italian jewellery making districts such as Arezzo, Vicenza, Valenza, Milan, Naples-Caserta were showcased. Buyers were free to buy “ready for delivery” jewellery at the Cash&Carry section.

GOLD UP/future, a significant new addition to OROAREZZO, displayed a selection of jewellery from the ORO D’AUTORE collection created by 28 Italian and international fashion designers and produced by the show exhibitors.

A full review on the show will be run in Hong Kong Jewellery Jun’14.
