The 59th BGJF to open next week

The Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair (BGJF) organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) under the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand will be staging its 59th edition from 22 to 26 February 2017 at the Impact Exhibition Centre, Bangkok.

Dubbed as the world’s top five gems and jewellery fairs, BGJF will bring together leading gemstones and jewellery producers and buyers from around the world. A total of 730 exhibitors from Thailand and overseas will showcase a vast array of gemstones, jewellery and related products in 2,001 booths. Some of the top foreign exhibitors are from Hong Kong, Singapore, Turkey, Poland and Japan. As for now, a long list of buyers from around the world have confirmed their participation including those from mainland China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain and the United States.

According to the organiser, the five-day trade show will not only provide global market trends, but also spotlight on rising markets in the globe through ‘The Showcases’ featuring jewellery for senior citizens in ‘60+’ zone, jewellery for wedding in ‘The Moment’ zone, jewellery for men in ‘Metro Men’ zone, jewellery for opulence and horoscope in ‘Spiritual Power’ zone, art and craft jewellery in ‘Culture Clue’ zone, and jewellery for pet in ‘Pet Parade’ zone. It is expected that the show will attract at least 23,000 visitors and potential buyers from across the globe and help the country generate some 17 billion baht or US$483 million worth of sales turnover, said DITP.
