TGJTA strengthens ties with China

Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) sought to strengthen cooperation with mainland China during the recently-concluded Jewelry Shanghai 2016.

TGJTA organised a 20-exhibitor Thai pavilion at the Shanghai fair during 5-9 May. President of the Thai association Suttipong Damrongsakul took the opportunity to meet with representatives from Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China (GAC), and introduced the Thailand Gems and Jewelry Fair 2016.

“For more than 20 years, the TGJTA and the GAC has cooperated in many trade activities and bartered exhibition space at numerous gems and jewellery tradeshows. Chinese buyers were also the second largest group of buyers at the 57th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair which was organised by the TGJTA,” Damrongsakul said.

Longman Hee, director of GAC’s international cooperation department, said: “The GAC values the cooperation with the TGJTA.” “Through the TGJTA, our members had found trade partners in Thailand. Thai products on high demand among Chinese buyers are coloured gemstones,” he added.
