TDC's two-venue show starts next Monday

The 2nd edition of the Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the 32nd edition of the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will be held next week in AsiaWorld-Expo from 2-6 March and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 4-8 March respectively. As one of the biggest global jewellery trading platforms, the two-venue show has attracted over 4,300 exhibitors from 52 countries and regions. Exhibitors from Czechoslovakia, Latvia, Qatar and Virgin Islands of the United States are participating in this year’s show for the first time and will be joined by a record breaking number of over 1,800 local exhibitors

Stepping up to meet demands of buyers, new exhibition zones are added. The Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show will introduce the Treasures of Ocean product zone, showcasing a variety high-quality pearls such as some 18mm South Sea pearls while the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will celebrate exquisite workmanship by adding the Treasures of Craftsmanship zone to exhibit decorations made with precious stones and metals. Another highlight of the show is “Hall of Fame” that features 46 international jewellery brands including Lorenzo, The Fifth Season by Roberto Coin, Giorgio Visconti and Laofengxiang.

Complimentary events and seminars will be held during the fair period under such titles as “Achieving Global Success in Jewellery E-tailing Market”, “Jewellery Appraisal and Gemstone Standards: Integrity, Authenticity and Consumer Confidence”, “Progress in Diamond Treatments, Synthetics and the Challenges in Identification” and “A Year in the Field through the Lens of a Gemologist”.

Also worth noting is that the International Jewellery Design Excellence Award Presentation Ceremony will be held on the opening day of the Jewellery Show (4 March). On the same day The Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China Ltd will launch its new “Natural Diamond Quality Assurance Mark” to increase consumers’ ability to differentiate between natural and synthetic diamonds and strengthen overseas buyers’ confidence in local supply.
