HK firm now a drop-off point for AIGS

Coloured gemstone laboratory reports and services provided by Bangkok-based Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences (AIGS) can now be obtained via Diamond Services Ltd, Hong Kong, starting January this year, according to a statement jointly released by both parties on 28 January 2015.

Under the new arrangement, Diamond Services will act as a drop-off window for the trade in the Hong Kong to submit both loose and jewellery-mounted coloured gemstones to AIGS for testing, analysis and grading. The turnabout time will be five to seven business days, said the service providers.

"This is a most important milestone from our perspective," said Kennedy Ho, AIGS's CEO. "Hong Kong serves as a primary gateway into the world's fastest growing market for coloured gemstones, and the provision of quality gemmological services is absolutely critical to its development. We are most fortunate to have found an expert in this venture with Diamond Services."

Joseph Kuzi, founder and managing director of Diamond Services said: "We are delighted to be joining forces with AIGS." "There are few coloured gemstone organizations with its wealth of knowledge, experience and integrity and we are privileged to be able to extend that to Hong Kong, China and beyond," he added.
