The 2021 Argyle Pink DiamondsTM Tender, comprising 70 rare pink and red diamonds in a total of 81.63 carats from Rio Tinto’s Argyle mine in Australia, has achieved a record-breaking result in the company’s 38 years of history.
The 2021 collection, titled ‘The Journey BeyondTM’, was mined in 2020 right before the Argle mine ceased operation. A double-digit price growth was recorded with 19 successful bidders from nine countries and regions.
Regarding to the hero lots of the tender, Argyle Eclipse™ of 3.47 carats, the largest fancy intense pink diamond ever offered at the sale, was won by Australian jeweller Callejia who also took the 1.01-carat Argyle Bohème™ home. Argyle Stella™ (1.79-carat fancy vivid purplish pink) and Argyle Solaris™ (2.05-carat fancy intense pink) have gone to Singapore.
