HK jewellery making hub grand opening

The Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association (HKJMA) held a grand opening ceremony for its multifunctional jewellery area J-Hub today. Brian Lo, director-general of the Trade and Industry Department (TID) was invited as the officiating guest. Three young local jewellery designers Daisy Chan, Sarita Wong and Joys Man shed light on their brand's building and jewellery design experience. More than 30 industry players attended the ceremony.

 

The workshop covers an area of ​​nearly 10,000 square feet. It has a shared jewellery making workshop, four multi-function rooms, an open jewellery design area and a shared space. Interested parties could apply for J-Hub’s membership by valid Hong Kong Business Registration Certificate (BR), Hong Kong identity card/ passport or university or tertiary institution student card for facilities rental. Internationally renowned jewellery making institute Hatton Jewellery Institute (HJI) as the official partner will hold various levels of jewellery experience and training courses in the workshop. The workshop also comprises Hong Kong Jewelry Laboratory, which provides gemstone testing and certification services at an affordable price.

 

Chairman Benny Do said: “I sincerely hope that the workshop will gather the strength and wisdom of the industry, inherit the exquisite craftsmanship of the local jewellery manufacturing industry, and establish a recognisable "made in Hong Kong" brand that will shine on the international stage.”
