Ecommerce giant eBay will participate in the physical Antique Jewelry and Watch Show, held alongside Couture in Las Vegas, 24-26 August.
The company commented: “As our luxury categories continue driving momentum and growth, eBay is thrilled to join the world’s most premier brands and innovative retailers across luxury accessories to further develop our existing relationships and create new industry partnerships amidst a highly regarded and relevant industry milestone.” Around eight million luxury timepieces were posted for sale on the platform in 2020.
Last year, the company launched an Authenticity Guarantee in the United States and Japan. Watch worth over US$2000 will be checked by inspectors. Since the launch, more than 7,000 luxury watches priced at more than US$10,000 were sold on eBay. This year, customers could pay US$10,000 or above watches via trusted third-party Escrow.
