The 22nd edition of Hong Kong International Jewelry Manufacturers’ Show started on 27 November 2014 well through 30 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wanchai.
At the opening ceremony Adam Lau, chairman of show organizer Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association (HKJMA), said due to limited space the fairground could not entertain all exhibition requests. “The recruitment is overwhelming with more than 200 companies on the waiting list even if the whole Hall 1 is used…We hope that our exhibition can extend to other halls to take up more exhibitors,” he said.
Also under the spotlight on the stage was the JMA International Jewelry Design Competition 2014 award presentation. The Graceful Pheonix (thumbnail) from Dai Sun Jewellery Company Ltd won the company the champion and the best craftsmanship award. The silver and bronze award went to the Everything Goes Well pendant from Guangzhou Nobel Jewelry Limited and the Lady’s Secret bangle from Lightan Jewelry Ltd respectively. The latter also took the best market value award.
