Phillips sell pieces by female big names

Runs until 31 May, 43 unordinary pieces by 15 female designers of the 20th and 21st centuries are up for sale on Phillips’ e-marketplace Flawless, under the theme of Woman to Woman.  

 

The three-week event is in collaboration with Vivarium. Vivarium founder Vivienne Becker said the jewellery recalls how women made their way in a traditionally male-dominated industry and showcased their influence on contemporary jewellery. These big names include Pablo Picassodaughter Paloma Picasso, Tiffany designer in the late 1960s Angela Cummings, Bulgari founder’s granddaughter Marina Bulgari.

 

The leading lot is the Chocolat bracelet by Suzanne Belperron. Crafted in 1929, The Art Deco piece set with square-shaped diamonds and black onyx featuring her signature Escalier design in gold. The piece also comes with its original drawing, asking for US$300,000.
