GemGenève 2020 cancelled

01-09-2020

GemGenève 2020, the international gem and jewellery show scheduled for 1-4 November in Geneva, Switzerland, comes as another victim from the jewellery show sector amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

The travel restrictions and strict sanitary precautions made it impossible for people to interact at the fair, said Ronny Totah, co-founder of GemGenève. Exhibitors will be fully reimbursed. Current exhibitors will be able to secure their attendance at the 2021 show, said the media alert.

He added that the next fair will probably be held in May 2021. Besides, they are working on a new platform for next year as requested by a number of exhibitors.

The show was originally planned for April. When Baselworld was rescheduled to the same month, GemGenève decided to move to November to avoid conflicts with dealers who exhibits at both fairs. (Photo courtesy: GemGenève)
