Chow Tai Fook (CTF) joins the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) as its first associate members beyond diamond trade. Albert Chan, CTF executive director has been appointed as an observer on the WFDB Executive Committee.
The WFDB founded as a bourse for international rough and polished diamond trade since 1947. Yoram Dvash, the acting president elected in mid-April said its mission has expanded to “lead and promote the world trade in diamonds and diamond jewellery”. To expand its influence and relevancy globally, WFDB is inviting leading diamond industry players to become its associate members and their representatives can sit on the WFDB executive committee.
He added, “The diamond business is based on collaboration between many different parties. Our business depends on them and they depend on us. I have invited leading companies and organizations in our industry to join the WFDB and many have already expressed their interest in joining. I have no doubt that more will come aboard. Now more than ever we must join forces. That’s the only way we will be able to succeed.”
