The World Jewelry Design Award 2020 organised by the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) or GIT is calling for entries till 30 June 2020.
Themed ‘Beyond Jewelry: Artistic Elegance of Gems’, the competition encourages international contestants to create “more than ordinary jewellery without limitation of the material used”.
Duangkamol Jiambut, director of GIT, said: “Today, jewellery is more than just an accessory and should serve a functional purpose. We expect to see new and extraordinary designs that can be developed into products that can be sold. GIT, together with the partners, will produce jewellery from the designs that made it to the final round to exhibit at the 66th Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair in September this year as well.”
The contest has a total prize value of US$9,500 in which US$4,000 goes to the champion. Result of the final judging will be announced on 9 July.
