Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) and the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) join hands to hold an Online Diamond Trade Fair from 30 March to 3 April following the close-down of their major diamond trading halls and widespread cancellation or postponement of industry fairs worldwide, offering diamond trading platform without leaving offices.
The show invites buyers to register by answering 12 questions on basic information of their companies at https://vdbexpo.typeform.com/to/PDIeXG powered by Virtual Diamond Boutique. Difficult times bring unique opportunities. IDI managing director Aviel Elia hopes the show will prove joining forces and cooperations are the key to overcome the current crisis.
Ernie Blom, World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) president praised the initiative: “We are fortunate that both e-commerce and digital platforms have developed to quite an extent; they can be the vehicles for business in these times of social distancing. I also applaud initiatives like the virtual trade show announced by AWDC-IDI, which is a positive innovation.”
