Gucci's high jewellery in Paris

8-7-2019 Gucci opens its door to the high jewellery market, bringing the first line entitled Hortus Deliciarum displaying in its new jewellery-only store in Paris’s Place Vendôm after a growth of 20 percent in sales in Q1 2019.

 

Designed by the brand’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, the debut collection has a trio of themes: Eden, Arcadia and Xanadu. Some classic animals for jewellery like lion, tiger and snake and “designs that are dear to him and are now part of the canon of [Gucci’s] iconography” can be seen in over 200 pieces jewellery, mostly in statement size. All made in Italy.

 

Hortus Deliciarum is available in the Paris store starts at €50,000 and top out at €800,000 alongside the brand’s gold jewellery priced between €1,500 to €2,000 in a bid to “further strengthen Gucci’s very high-end positioning” as stated in the annual results of Gucci’s parent company, Kering.
