Pink diamond ring sold for HK$59m

‘The Bubble Gum Pink’ ring (photo 1) claimed the top lot of Christie’s Hong Kong’s magnificent jewels auction on Tuesday.

The Moussaieff ring set with a 3.43-carat fancy vivid purplish pink cushion modified brilliant-cut diamond, pear-shaped pink diamonds and marquise-cut white diamonds fetched HK$58.8 million (US$7.5 million), with a price per carat of HK$17 million. The ring was sold within the estimate of HK$46.8 million - $65 million.

A pair of 23.34- and 23.16-carat pear-shaped Colombian emerald earrings (photo 2) ‘The Grand Muzos’ realised HK$35 million, over HK$750,000 per carat.

A fei cui bead necklace set with diamonds and rubies (photo 3) sold for HK$15 million came as another highlight.
