Chow Tai Fook (CTF) signed a memorandum of cooperation with Tencent. CTF will commence WeChat Pay HK in designated stores in Mainland China next year. Hong Kongers can pay HKD through the program while the payment will be in RMB. The Group will then promote WeChat Pay HK to other outlets in the Greater Bay Area and other cities across mainland China, and further expand the payment method to subsidiaries under CTF. CTF and Tencent are now jointly developing the ‘smart payment’ with membership verification via smartphone scanning code.
