Stars from Couture

The 2019 Couture Design Award rewarded 45 winners across 15 categories including two chosen by the public at the ceremony of Couture Show in Las Vegas in June, with a new category, the Best in Debuting, launched exclusive for new faces exhibiting at Couture. The prizes included a US$10,000 grant towards their Couture expenses the following year as Couture’s support for artists.

The fifth-generation diamantaire Jade Trau restored the top honour for best in bridal category. He was the champion of the category in 2017. A rare entry for jewellery design contest, collar which created with feather, diamonds and pearls was awarded the title of Best in Haute Couture. Its designer, Mike Joseph specialises in using stones no larger than 0.5 carat. For him, the best design is creative, practical and eye catching, just like his collar. He won the best in diamonds above US$20,000 category with a necklace last year.
