American awards honours innovation

Platinum ring Tropical Storm set with a 22-carat emerald and diamonds designed by James Currens crowned the best of show award of the 2014 Spectrum Awards. Since 1984, the awards has honoured designers in the United States and Canada whose work utilizes the best of natural coloured gemstones and cultural pearls in innovative fine jewellery design. Started 1991 award organizer the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) created the Cutting Edge Awards to recognize excellence and creativity of the lapidary arts. The 2014 awards was judged in October 2013 and will be presented during GemFairTM, Tucson, to be held from 4 to 9 February 2014.
