New contest to prompt trendy fei cui jewellery design

 

To discover jewellery design talents, encourage exchange on natural fei cui jewellery design among jewellery practitioners and promote the oriental gemstone’s influence and prominence at the international level, major trade associations in the Greater China region join effort to launch the debut 2017 International Design Competition on Trendy Fei Cui Jewellery on 4 March 2017 at HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show.

The contest is organised by National Gems & Jewelry Technology Administrative Center, Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China, Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association (HKJJA), Republic of China Gemological Association, and Taiwan Creative Jewellery Designer Association,sponsored by Hong Kong Trade Development Council and co-organised by of China Gems, Hong Kong Jewellery and Jewelry World (Taiwan). 

 

Categories

•Open Group – Finished Product (retailed at below US$10,000) 

•Open Group – Finished Product (retailed at above US$10,000) 

•Open Group – Hand-drawn or CAD

•Student Group – Hand-drawn or CAD

 

Judging criteria include the use of fei cui, creativity, wearability,manufacturability, aesthetics & idea expression and market sales potential.

Winners will receive trophies and certificates prepared by prestigious designers and authoritative bodies in addition to cash prizes, exposure in jewellery shows and media coverage. The award presentation ceremony will be held in November 2017 during the China International Jewellery Fair, Beijing.

Student design contest

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of HKSAR. In a bid to celebrate the moment, HKJJA will organise the ‘Hong Kong Students Design Competition on Fei Cui Jewellery in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Reunification of Hong Kong with China’ as a sub-event of the above contest. Both events will be kicked off at the same launching ceremony on 4 March.
