A red-hot desert

JCK Las Vegas concluded its 26th edition on 6 June 2016 with over 2,400 jewellery brands and manufacturers exhibiting. Highlights included a newly designed show floor that made easy shopping possible, and the Design Center which housed more new design talents, according to Reed Jewelry Group, show organiser.

On 3 June the show opened its doors to reveal a new layout that guided international buyers according to similar product groupings. In order to create a dynamic show experience with more learning and networking opportunities, a series of events were held, including the Plumb Club breakfast where topics on understanding and selling to millennials were discussed.

The show was intent on celebrating the talents of industry with numerous award ceremonies including the Design Center’s Top 50 Retailers of the Year, The Editor’s Choice Awards and the Think Tank Award for technology.

JCK’s high-end event LUXURY started on 31 May. With an additional new ballroom space filled with Prestige and the new LUXURY Watch, the premier show featured 250 elite brands.

‘The Talks’, JCK’s educational component, was held a day prior to the opening of the show. Eighteen informative discussions were scheduled including the much discussed topics on lab-grown diamonds.

Many renowned exhibitors have expressed their contentment towards the fair. Phyllis Bergman, vice president of Mercury Ring said: “JCK Las Vegas really exceeded our company’s expectations. Despite market conditions and a new location, we were extremely busy.” Stuller’s founder and CEO Matt Stuller stated: “This year’s JCK Show was a turning point for us…And I think our customers appreciated the convenient, easy shopping experience.”

According to show organiser, the show welcomed 35,616 industry professionals in total. “The highly anticipated launch of sister show JIS Exchange was a success with 4,581 buyers shopping the new Tropicana destination where 100 exhibitors were showing fashion and fine jewellery available for immediate delivery.” (Photo courtesy: JCK Las Vegas)
