Sotheby’s important watch sale in Geneva achieved a total of over CHF4 million (US$4 million) on 14 May 2016. An extremely rare Patek Philippe minute repeating perpetual calendar pocket watch (photo) was sold for CHF472,000. It is thought to be one of the only two models of reference 844 in white gold. An important yellow gold platinum and gem-set art deco desk timepiece made in 1926 from Vacheron Constantin was sold for CHF430,000. A very rare stainless steel Patek Philippe wristwatch with black dial and Breguet numerals reference 1504 fetched CHF328,000, 10 times its estimate.
