The glamorous smartwatch

Geneva-based jewellery brand de GRISOGONO has recently connected with Korean technology giant Samsung for “the most glamorous smartwatch” Samsung Gear S2 by de GRISOGONO. Glamorous accessory and high-tech object, style and function, the new invention symbolises “the best of the two worlds it connects”. The watch made its debut at Baselworld 2016 where it successfully stole the limelight in the smartwatch category.

The limited-edition Samsung Gear S2 by de GRISOGONO is manufactured and assembled in the de GRISOGONO workshop, designed by its founder and creative director Fawaz Gruosi. The timepiece comes in a 41mm rose gold and stainless steel case set with 56 white diamonds and 71 black diamonds, with the jeweller’s signature galuchat strap.

The watch has two digital dials, black or white. Instrumental features include notifications and activity log supporting Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or NFC connection. The timepiece holds a charge for two to three days depending on usage.

“Designing a connected watch with Samsung has been an incredible experience for both brands. Samsung brought to the table the best and most intuitive technology, while de GRISOGONO brought its glamorous design and craftsmanship expertise. The resulting Samsung Gear S2 by de Grisogono clearly embodies all of our boldness in watch design and our jewellery savoir-faire, while maintaining all of Samsung’s technological capabilities and intuitive usage. This watch will take an honourable place alongside de GRISOGONO’s Meccanico, Otturatore and Occhio, as another of our brand’s revolutionary approaches to displaying time,” said Gruosi.

“This dynamic partnership builds on this heritage by merging Samsung’s barrier-breaking technology with de GRISOGONO’s signature style to create a smartwatch as unique as the wearer,” said Younghee Lee, Samsung Electronics’ executive vice president of global marketing, mobile communications business
