Organised by Elite Expo Sdn Bhd, Malaysia International Jewellery Fair Spring Edition (MIJF SE) 2016 closed on a successful note at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre with the support of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCeb) and Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufactures Association (HKJJA), and the endorsement by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
The four-day event, held 15-18 January 2016, was unveiled with a glamorous opening ceremony and a luxurious jewellery fashion show. A total of 120 jewellery brands from over 11 countries and regions, including Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Turkey, UAE, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia gathered to showcase more than 100,000 pieces of fine jewellery.
MIJF SE 2016 wowed visitors with the theme of the year - ‘Sapphire: The Allegory of Spring’. ‘The Grandeur of Sapphire’ galleria presented exquisite and signature collections of sapphire and sapphire jewellery from around the world. Along with the theme, MIJF SE also host ‘Visit & Win - Everyday Sapphire Lucky Draw’ contest with prizes worth over RM 20,000 for visitors. Other concurrent programmes included a private jewellery viewing section and a branding seminar.
The next MIJF will be held from 5 to 8 August 2016 at the same venue. To keep the momentum of success, the organiser decided to extend the coming August show to Penang, a well-known gold trading hub, and debut ‘Gold Exhibtion - MIJF Signature Gold Penang’ from 10 to 12 August 2016.
