Sunshine greets young designers

A medallion pendant necklace set in yellow gold and silver with yellow brilliants, sapphire and golden beryl, by Julia Maximiliane Giersch crowned the ’Sunshine-themed’ 26th German Young Talent Competition for Gemstone and Jewellery Design Idar-Oberstein 2014. This amulet necklace convinced the jury at a conceptual and technical level. “The award winner made an enormous effort, selected gorgeous materials, combined them in a perfect way and did not stint on anything,” the jury concluded.
