MIJF 2014 ends on a high note

The Malaysia International Jewellery Fair (MIJF) held from 18 to 21 July 2014 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre attracted over 200 exhibitors from the global jewellery sector.

Supported by the local government, renowned local and overseas trade associations including the Federation of Goldsmiths and Jewellers Associations of Malaysia (FGJAM) and the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufactures Association (HKJJA), MIJF 2014 envisions to strengthen the country’s position as global standard jewellery trading catalyst while helping out in promoting the country as next best MICE hub in the eyes of the world.

After the private jewellery-viewing session on the first day, a glamorous opening ceremony and a fashion show were held on the second day of the fair. Organized by show organizer Elite Expo Sdn Bhd, a series of jewellery seminars on pearls and gemstones were presented by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT) aiming to widen the knowledge of jewellery lovers.

Other highlights of the show were the MIJF Jewellery Design Award Ceremony held on the last show-day, and the interesting ‘Golden Centennial Galleria’ presented by FGJAM to showcase gold jewellery, artefacts, equipment and machinery used from 1914 until today.
