The only Asian artist re-invited to Paris antique show

THE 27th Biennale des Antiquaires will be held from 11 to 12 September 2014 at the Grand Palais, Paris, France. The expanded biennial antique and jewellery show will once again feature the artistically and technically innovative jewellery from Hong Kong-based Wallace Chan, the only invited exhibitor from Asia so far.

Exhibiting with celebrated high jewellery houses including Alexandre Reza, Boucheron, Bulgari, Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Graff Diamonds and Van Cleef & Arpels, Wallace Chan will be showcasing his one-of-a-kind Biennale collection featuring extraordinary gemstones and mastery craftsmanship. Among the highlights is the Now and Always necklace set with a giant 135.40-carat aquamarine carved with the renowned Wallace Cut.

This year, Chan is appointed by Christian Deydier, president of the Biennale’s organizer National Union of Antiques Dealers (SNA), to be the ambassador for the event’s Asia Tour. “Wallace Chan took the 2012 Biennale by storm. I am very happy that he has accepted to be our official ambassador in Asia for the upcoming edition in 2014,” said Deydier.

In 2012, fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld turned the fairground into a phenomenal backdrop for the priceless exhibits. For the 27th edition Deydier has entrusted acclaimed interior designer Jacques Grange to be the scenographer.

The Biennale des Antiquaires is important antique and jewellery show in the world. Stakeholders of the fair are considered to be among the most upmarket and significant.

Wallace Chan is a well-recognized jewellery master especially for his novel Wallace Cut (1987) as well as the revolutionary use of titanium in jewellery making. He debuted his international presence at Baselworld 2007.
