Heart-shaped diamond sets new record

The luxury sales of watches, jewellery and wines held by Christie’s Geneva achieved a total of CHF 112,005,520 (US$113,685,603) during 15-17 May 2017.

The top lot of the sales was a 92.15-carat flawless, D colour, heart-shaped diamond (photo) sold for CHF 14,767,500, setting a new record of any heart-shaped diamond sold at auction. Other important lots include a Burmese oval-cut ruby of 15.03 carats sold for CHF 12,751,500 and a 7.97-carat cushion-shaped VS1 fancy intense blue diamond which fetched CHF 12,527,500.

The Haile Selassie Patek Philippe ref 2497 sold for over CHF 2.9 million has set a new record for the reference at auction.
