Tony Duquette’s gems be sold at Sotheby’s.com

From 18 to 30 August 2016, Sotheby’s will hold an online sale of 32 pieces of jewellery designed by the late Tony Duquette (1914-1999).

Encompassed theatrical costume, interiors and jewellery, Duquette’s designs were distinguished by the unexpected combinations of vivid colours and the daring volume. His impressive list of private clients included the Duchess of Windsor, Elizabeth Arden, Greta Garbo, etc. He won a Tony Award for Costume Design and was the first American artist to hold a solo exhibition at the Louvre in Paris.
