Wallace Chan debuts in Masterpiece London 2016

Wallace Chan debuts in Masterpiece London for the first time, unveiling around 40 pieces of jewellery creations, a 2.2-metre tall large-scaled titanium-gemstone sculpture, along with two glass-carving artworks. The exhibition is open to the public from today until 6 July 2016. The VIP preview was held yesterday, attracting over 8,000 collectors and art lovers.

Creation Highlights:

Apsara brooch

The ancient image of the Asian celestial maiden is jewelled and modernized. Her elegant, delicate form adorned with yellow, pink and green diamonds along with other gemstones presents a frozen dancing moment. Her beauty floats in captivating star trails, encapsulating eternity.

Stilled Life sculpture

Wallace Chan’s signature work Stilled Life will be exhibited in London for the very first time. It will be one of the most important pieces at the art fair, expressing the perfect marriage of three art forms: jewellery, carving and sculpture. The cicada composed of imperial jadeite and Zen philosophies stands nobly on the gentleman’s bamboo elaborated with traditional carvings symbolizing everlasting happiness and a bejewelled spider.

Rise of Heart sculpture

A 2.2-metre tall giant peony – the pistil is composed of a few thousand pieces of rubies, citrines and amethysts. The vibrant colours express the beauty of a happy, blossoming soul. Butterflies are taking flight from the petals, colourful and in various shapes. Tiny buds radiate the vitality of new life ready to bloom. The flower does not only grow from soil, geometric shapes are set on its base, leaving a clue about the mysterious micro-world.

Damask Silk necklace

54 DIF diamonds of incredible brilliance are placed in the embrace of smooth white agate and gentle, youthful pink tourmalines. The materials are weaved into an immortal silk using a web-like titanium structure, light as a feature it conveys sheer elegance and denotes unique, meticulous craftsmanship.
