AWDC Appoints David Gotlib As New President

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) has appointed David Gotlib as its new president to replace Chaim Pluczenik. The board also elected two new vice presidents, Sahag Arslanina, managing director of Arslanian Group, and Amish Jain, owner of N N Diamonds.

David Gotlib is a third-generation diamantaire, leading Antwerp’s midstream diamond company IDRP Group. He is also the creative force behind the eponymous jewellery brand which is known for its bespoke, designer cufflinks.

According to AWDC, the new appointment symbolises a new generation of diamantaires assuming leadership roles in the industry.

“I thank my fellow board members for their confidence. I would also like to express my gratitude to former president Chaim Pluczenik, who took upon himself the difficult task of guiding the Antwerp diamond industry through one of its most challenging episodes. Antwerp has again demonstrated its resilience to push through these difficult moments, and together with the board and the AWDC team, it will be an honour to continue the hard work of my predecessors, ensuring Antwerp can continue on a path of growth,” said David Gotlib.

AWDC CEO Ari Epstein said: “I congratulate the new leadership of the board on their appointment. Gotlib, Arslanian and Jain can count on the support of the entire AWDC team. They all have formidable experience in the diamond industry and I am convinced that under their guidance and leadership, Antwerp will thrive in the coming years ahead.” (Photo courtesy: AWDC)
