Jewellery Buying Groups Formed New Global Alliance

Three major independent jewellery buying groups, the Independent Jewellers Organisation (IJO), the Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) and Nationwide Jewellers, have recently joined forces and launched a new collaborative project – the Global Jewellers Network.

The Independent Jewellers Organisation operates in the U.S. and Canada, while the Company of Master Jewellers covers the U.K. and Ireland, and Nationwide Jewellers is based in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. Having come together, the Network now covers nine countries and represent more than 1,500 independent jewellery stores.

"For our members, being part of a global collaboration of the leading jewellery groups in the world is a big plus. It will certainly give even more confidence to consumers when visiting one of our members,” said Colin Pocklington, Nationwide’s Managing Director.

According to Pocklington, three groups will share information on new products and suppliers. And by sharing successful marketing, training and education programmes, this project will benefit members from all three groups.
