The Pantone Color Institute created a new colour for the first time since the Color of the Year program started in 1999. This new color mixing the qualities of the blues and a violet-red undertone showcases confidence and curiosity, to let us embrace the new possibilities ahead. “As we move into a world of unprecedented change, the selection of Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri brings a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue color family,” said Pantone Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman. Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Institute regarded the new color as “a reflection of the global innovation and transformation taking place”. In an email to JCK Magazine, she said Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri would be an ideal color in a stone. Sapphire and tanzanite could be the choices closest to this colour which suits enamel coatings in fine jewellery.
