User-friendly traceability QR code to launch this year

Antwerp’s independent technology solution provider iTraceiT is about to launch a user-friendly and flexible diamond traceability QR code for end customers.

Each client has its own database, and all data linked to a QR code is encrypted. A personal access code protects the back office, allowing only authorized personnel to access. iTraceiT is now working with pioneering partners on pilot projects.  It will launch globally later this year.

The solution is applauded by Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) executive director Iris Van der Veken: “applaud iTraceiT for their leadership and commitment to sustainability. The time is now to integrate sustainability at the core of your business strategy. Initiatives like these are critical to driving positive impact forward.”

Industry players from miner giants Alrosa to gemstone laboratory Gübelin Gem Lab have introduced a range of initiatives tracking diamond and gemstones all the way through the entire supply chain. Most of them are blockchain-based.
