Christie’s HK magnificent jewels

The magnificent jewels auction held by Christie’s Hong Kong on 29 May 2018 achieved HK$563 million (US$72 million), setting new records for a coloured diamond bracelet and the carat price for Paraiba tourmaline.

The top lot was the Moussaieff necklace set with an 8.01-carat pear-shaped fancy vivid blue IF diamond and a fancy intense pink diamond (photo 1) which was sold for nearly HK$160 million. The coloured diamond bracelet designed by Edmond Chin for Boghossian (photo 2) achieved HK$35 million, a new world auction record for a coloured diamond bracelet. A pair of Brazilian Paraiba tourmaline ear pendants set with a 7.46- and a 6.84-carat pear-shaped stones fetched HK$22 million or US$194,730 per carat, setting the world auction record price per carat for a Paraiba tourmaline.
