Alrosa sold 90 percent lots of rough diamonds over 1,300 carats at US$7.9 million to clients from US, India, Israel, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates in New York. Lots included a white diamond with yellow shade weighing almost 98 carats and a white diamond weighing 108 carats (photo). “The auction was held during some major holidays, therefore some of our customers couldn’t attend it. So it had an effect on the overall result,” Evgeny Agureev, director of United Selling Organisation (USO) of Alrosa commented.
