AFCDIA Partners with State-Owned Firm to Promote Coloured Diamonds

The Asia Fancy Color Diamond Association (AFCDIA) led a group of selected members and coloured diamond and watch brands to take part in the 3rd China International Consumer Products Expo in Hainan, China, last month. Amazed the audience with magnificent jewellery and exquisite watches, AFCDIA has also entered into an agreement with a state-owned enterprise to promote the culture of coloured diamonds together in the Mainland.

Held at Hainan International Convention And Exhibition Center in Hainan, the China International Consumer Products Expo is a renowned national exhibition in the country. Invited by Poly Culture to participate in the fair, AFCDIA exhibited a selection of top-notched jewellery and watches from internationally acclaimed brands including Unirich and Nalas International from Hong Kong, Avakian and deLaCour from Switzerland, Carrera y Carrera from Spain, Novel Collection from Israel, Mahallati Jewellery from Dubai, etc.

According to Lily Leung, founding chairman of AFCDIA, it was an honour to receive an invitation from a state-owned enterprise to share booth at Hall 8 where top local brands such as Huawei, Bloomage Biotech, and the guest country of honour Italy were located. It was such a high-level event. “The China Hainan International Cultural Relics and Art Trading Center under Poly Culture has put on show four bronze animal head sculptures originally from Yuanmingyuan, together with other priceless bronze vessels and paintings. The invaluable exhibits have appealed to a huge flock of luxury and art aficionados who were also intrigued by our grandiose coloured diamond jewellery. We are glad to have received keen inquiries on our offerings. The enthusiastic and encouraging feedbacks from the audience have given strong assurance to our brands who aspire to venture the China market,” she said.

In a bid to foster a better development of Hainan Free Trade Port and China Hainan International Cultural Relics and Art Trading Center while stepping up the promotion of coloured diamonds in the Mainland, AFCDIA and China Hainan International Cultural Relics and Art Trading Center have signed a cooperation framework agreement during the fair.

Officiating at Poly Culture’s booth, the monumental signing ceremony was well-attended by high-ranking Hainan government officials, leaders from both signing parties, local and overseas coloured diamond and jewellery gurus and media friends. The signees from AFCDIA and Hainan International Cultural Relics and Art Trading Center were Ms Leung Chit Yan and Mr Li Weiqiang respectively.

Upon signing the agreement, both parties agree to put in place intensive cooperation in Hainan by taking advantage of AFCDIA’s expertise in coloured diamonds and the rich network resources of Hainan International Cultural Relics and Art Trading Center to promote coloured diamonds as an upscale luxury brand, push the coloured diamond culture forward from Hainan to the entire country.

Lily Leung added that it was an invaluable experience to be part of such a huge show in the country where they could engage the trade and consumers directly, cultivate the culture of coloured diamonds, find new business for members, and introduce coloured diamonds as a voguish investment option to Mainland consumers.
