Fei cui dazzles at Holly’s HK sale

Holly’s International’s jewellery, watch, urban art and decorative art sales fetched a total of over HK$58 million on 24 November in Hong Kong where magnificent fei cui stole the limelight, including the top lot - a natural fei cui guanyin and diamond pendant (photo 1) sold for over HK$10 million.

The ‘Fine Jewels, Jadeite and Urban Art’ and ‘Important Timepieces and Decorative Art’ sales put nearly 150 lots of fine jewellery, rare timepieces and hype collectibles under the hammer at the Grand Hyatt ballroom yesterday. The translucent carved fei cui guanyin pendant of approximately 70×45×8 mm set in 18-karat white gold with 4.20-carat diamonds realised HK$ HK$ 10,148,000.

An 18-karat natural fei cui and diamond parure (photo 2) featuring 13 translucent fei cui cabochons and 29.00-carat diamonds was sold for HK$4.8 million. Another fei cui highlight went to a five-cabochon with diamond ring and earrings suite (photo 3) which fetched HK$3 million.

An 18-karat white gold ring set with a 1.09-carat heart-shaped fancy purplish pink diamond and 3.60 carats of pear-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds (photo 4) was sold for HK$4.7 million.

According to Holly’s International, the newly introduced hype collectibles have met overwhelming interest from young buyers.
