The twisted steel cable is from Charriol and make no mistake about it. Even if you can’t spell or read the brand name properly, you’d easily associate the iconic element with the brand logo “C” or the signature prune colour.

Established by the late Philippe Charriol in 1983, the Swiss contemporary luxury lifestyle brand inspires people to live an extraordinary life by its artistry and timeless watches, jewellery and accessories, resonating with the life motto of the founder “L’art de Vivre la Difference” (the art of living differently) which has stood firm as the brand’s core value.

The iconic Charriol cable is Swiss-made, treated with hypoallergenic finish and resistant to heat and corrosion. It comes in a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours including purple, blue, pink, yellow gold and rose gold besides black, grey and the original hue thanks to a special PVD process ensuring a long-lasting performance.

“The Celtic cable is an instantly recognisable design, one that conveys stability, craftsmanship and classic style,” said Thibaud Jaouen, Charriol’s regional sales director. “It looks modern but pulls from the past. And it has a unisex appeal, which is really important for our brand. The versality of the Celtic cable has seen us through so many trends and aesthetics, and yet it always endures.”

From the Celtic single woven cable bangle to the delicate double-turn cable Le Rêve ring, from the Forever Waves Charms super slim twisted cable bracelet to the Infinity Zen ring featuring a woven cable loop, the twisted cable motif always finds itself a natural way to fit into Charriol’s original design. And don’t forget the emblematic bracelets with five or six cables for its legendary watches.

Charriol’s voguish jewellery with cutting-edge design is ideal for day-to-day wear. Stacking up one or two Forever Thin bangles with a Forever Waves Charms bracelet on one wrist, and a St-Tropez watch with a white MOP dial on the other, is all it takes to stand up for yourself in a gracious and effortless way.

Drawn inspiration from the Hawaiian frangipani flower, the Malia collection comprising bangles, earrings, rings, and necklaces features multi-strand steel cables in different colours set with natural white topaz. An adorable everyday pick for summer.

Seemingly elegant with an additional dainty aura is the Le Fil d’Or collection launched in 2017 set in 18-karat yellow gold with natural diamonds, gemstones or cultural pearls. The collection pieces are painstakingly handcrafted, a refined take on Charriol’s signature twisted cable with a vintage glamour.

A legacy was born when Philippe Charriol made the debut of the Celtic watch in the 1980s. Since then the brand has wowed the global audiences with state-of-the-art watch collections honouring the maison’s design and craftsmanship excellence.

Among other bestselling watches are the Celtic and the Forever lines, with the former paying tribute to the brand’s Celtic tradition, and the latter featuring slim cables, whimsical colours and the Eastern-inspired latticed design.

The St-Tropez collection, for instance, is an all-time favourite of fans of feminine jewellery watches with a hint of French glamour. The launch of St-Tropez Magnolia in 2019 has brought the technical and aesthetic attributes of the legendary collection to another level. Joining up the signature steel cable bracelet is the 30mm case set with 193 gemstones including amethysts, spessartites, white sapphires and diamonds to revive the magic of nature in the French region of Provence.

Named after the founder’s wife, the Marie-Olga collection comes as another luxury choice that boast an extravagant lifestyle. It features an oval-shaped case and a horseshoe-shaped element. The full diamond-set version is meant to turn heads at evening occasions.

A caring luxury brand, Charriol is an avid advocate of sustainability, environmental protection and a loving planet.

“Our summer collection this year was inspired by the oceans, in an effort to celebrate the richness of marine life and also bring awareness to the pollution and devastating effects climate change has on what makes up 71 percent of the planet. A percentage of sales are going to help support Lonely Whale,” said Jaouen.

In a bid to thank and honour the healthcare and essential workers working hard at the front lines of the novel coronavirus global pandemic, Charriol has launched a global campaign #CharriolPurpleHearts. “Our goal is to highlight the everyday acts that have turned heroic – a welcome turn to gratitude. Thanks to those who have risked their health and have given their time and expertise. We are stronger and better because of you. And we will make it through this uncertain time thanks to your example. All hearts beat as one,” he continued.

Since inception, Charriol has established a worldwide distribution network of nearly 290 mono-brand boutiques and 3,800 points of sale across 60 countries and regions. (In photos are 2020 novelties. Courtesy: Charriol)
