French high-jewellery maison Van Cleef & Arpels has relocated its Hong Kong flagship to Central’s Alexandra House, debuting an expansive two-storey space designed to broaden its appeal in the region.
Spanning 564 square metres, the new boutique replaces the brand’s previous home at Prince’s Building, where it had operated since 2011. Designed by Paris-based Studio Jouin Manku, the venue marks one of only five such "Maisons" globally, joining landmark sites in Paris, New York, Seoul, and Tokyo.
The interior integrates natural organic materials—including oak paneling, neutral earth tones, and a limestone staircase—with local elements such as a tea ceremony area featuring rose-coloured stone developed alongside L’École, School of Jewelry Arts. The ground floor features a dedicated heritage room hosting four rotating exhibitions annually, aimed at making the storied brand more accessible to the general public. Meanwhile, the upper level houses dedicated private salons for fine jewellery, high jewellery, watchmaking, and perfumes.
Marc Leplingard, managing director for Hong Kong and Macau, described the flagship as a "lighthouse" designed to welcome both curious visitors and seasoned collectors.
