The "Hong Kong International Fashion Chuk Kam Jewellery Design Competition" held a press conference at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council on July 3 to introduce the theme and process of the competition. Nearly 100 representatives from the organisers, co-organisers and sponsors of the competition, major jewellery associations in Hong Kong, and designer representatives attended. The conference was also broadcast live to the mainland and Hong Kong through offline and online connections.
The "Hong Kong International Fashion Chuk Kam Jewellery Design Competition" is hosted by The Jewellers’ and Goldsmiths’ Association, sponsored by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the World Gold Council, and jointly organised by the Shenzhen Gold Jewellery Association. The competition is based on the design concept of "Cultural Integration " of the World Gold Council's "New Ideas for Gold • Cultural Integration and Innovation on the new Silk Road". The competition is divided into " Pure Gold Category (including Hard Pure Gold)" and "Pure Gold Inlay Category (including Hard Pure Gold)". All shortlisted works must be made into finished jewellery for the finals.
At the conference, Mr. Simon Yau from the World Gold Council encouraged designers to use the customs and culture of ASEAN and Gulf countries as creative materials, and to combine cultural and creative experience and advanced craftsmanship to create gold jewellery works that attract young people to participate in the competition. He also hopes to use this competition opportunity to share the winning works with the Belt and Road countries, bringing technological innovation and improving product quality to the consumer markets of various countries.
