GIT to announce ruby contest winners at 60th BGJF

The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT) will organise the award announcement ceremony of the World’s Most Beautiful Ruby Contest 2017 on 6 September during the 60th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF)at the Impact Exhibition Centre, Bangkok.

As one of the warm-up events for World Ruby Forum which will be held concurrently with CIBJO Congress on 4 November 2017 in Bangkok, the contest is organised by GIT, together with Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences (AIGS)Jewelry Trade Center (JTC),and the Association of Gemmology for France (AFG), in a bid to search for the most beautiful rubies from around the world and strengthen Thailand’s image as one of the world’s most important gem and jewellery trading hubs. 

The contest was organised in six categories; natural unheated and traditional heated for ruby sized three to five carats, five to 10 carats and over 10 carats. The winners will be awarded the royal trophy granted by Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol and a certificate of recognition. All awarded rubies will be exhibited at the fairground to the public. The 60th BGJF will take place from 6-10 September 2017 at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Exhibition Centre.
