T Mark guarantees quality in Thai jewellery

The 60th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF) will be held 6-10 September 2017 at Impact Exhibition Centre. The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), show organiser, encourages buyers to look for the Thailand Trust Mark (T Mark) which guarantees the quality and craftsmanship of the jewellery from Thai brands.

Initiated by DITP in 2012, the T Mark is granted to local manufacturers or service providers who achieve “Heartmade Quality”, the highest standard of production, fair labour, giving consideration to environmental concerns and social responsibility.

Including Dhanu, de facto Asia, Beauty Gems, Pranda Jewelry, The Premier and Maya Trade in the gem and jewellery industry, a total of nearly 740 Thai companies in eight industries have received the T Mark.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, Thailand is currently the world’s 10th largest gem and jewellery exporter. Exports of gem and jewellery, excluding gold, are forecasted to rise five percent in 2017 to US$7.32 billion.
