Italian jewellery show merger approved

A merger between the Italian Exhibition Group Spa (IEG) and Arezzo Fiere e Congressi announced in January 2017 has been approved, according to information from IDEX dated 23 April. The business decision has created “a single representative trade show platform for the entire sector Italian gold and jewelry industry”, the information provider said. IEG was created by the merger of Rimini Fiera and Fiera di Vicenza.

The agreement was signed by president & CEO of IEG Lorenzo Cagnoni, and president of Arezzo Fiere e Congressi Andrea Boldi, in the presence of managing director of IEG Corrado Facco, IEG deputy managing director Carlo Costa, and a member of the Arezzo Fiere e Congressi board, Alessia Gualdagni.

In addition to holding two Vicenzaoro fairs in Vicenza and one in Dubai, IEG Expo will also be the administrative organiser of OroArezzo and Gold Italy starting from the May 2017 edition and the October 2017 edition respectively.

IDEX reported that the five shows will host about 5,000 exhibitors from all Italy and over 30 countries and regions with over 80,000 visitors, 50 percent of whom come from 130 different nations.
